Introduction

 

The Department of Health Services (DHS) Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC) is recruiting to fill two (2) Psychiatrist vacancies. 

These positions will work Monday through Friday during daytime hours.

WRC is a secure treatment facility that specializes in treating individuals with severe mental health conditions from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. This facility is located on Lake Winnebago with beautiful walking paths by the lake for employees to use during break periods. WRC is part of the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS). Position Summary

 

As a Psychiatrist at WRC, you will promote quality patient care and a safe work environment as you diagnose and provide clinical treatment of WRC patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in Treatment Learning Plan development regarding health care needs and specific health care interventions.  You will also be responsible for assessing the learning needs of patients, staff, and others and provide direction or educational activities as needed. 

Salary Information

 

The total salary for full-time employees may be up $329,000 annually, depending on qualifications, plus excellent. The salary includes add-on pay for persons who are Board Certified or Board eligible. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay is set based on the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment. The pay schedule/range is 10/52.

Job Details

 

All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by WRC or medical personnel approved by the facility within 30 days of the start date. 

Candidates must possess a DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) number at the time of hire. Please note individuals who are required to obtain a registration in order to carry out duties in a state or federal agency are exempt from registration fees. For more information, please click here.

Qualifications

 

Minimally qualified applicants will have the following:

  • Possession of a license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin or ability to obtain the license prior to the appointment.
  • Candidate must be Board Certified or Board Eligible as defined by the ABPN (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc.). Board Eligible is defined as: must be within the last 2 years of a Psychiatry residency program or has completed a Psychiatry Residency Program within the last 7 years or is in the process of taking the Board exam.
  • Possession of DEA number. 

Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:

  • Completed an approved residency in psychiatry.
  • Experience working effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Experience providing court testimony.
