Introduction

 

The Department of Health Services (DHS)Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) is recruiting for CNA Supervisors. CWC provides short-term and long-term residential services to assist people living with intellectual disabilities in acquiring the personal skills needed to reach their highest potential. CWC is located at 317 Knutson Drive on the north side of Madison.

Positions Available:

  • Night Shift: 100% (40 hours per week) for an Area 1 Float (Medical Short Term Care Unit (MSTCU) and Intensive Treatment Program (ITP) (10:00 pm to 06:30 am.) 
  • Morning Shift: 100% (40 hours per week) for Murphy Hall East (6:00 am to 2:30 pm.)
  • Night Shift: 100% (40 hours per week) for Murphy Hall West (10:00 p.m.- 6:30 a.m.)

Position Summary

 

These positions are responsible for center-wide operations and supervision of care and treatment plans, therapeutic activities for individuals and nursing care as directed by licensed practitioners; participation in the development of treatment plans, programs and unit rules, policies and procedures; supervision of assigned CNA's to assure performance of tasks, functions, and responsibilities necessary to assure appropriate individual care and active treatment in a clean, safe, and secure environment, in accordance with Federal, State, DHS, CWC, and unit policies and procedures; supervision, counseling, and evaluation of CNA's on assigned unit; assignment and coordination of direct care staff schedules and duties.

Salary Information

 

The starting salary is between $34.61 and $35.68 per hour (approximately between $72,000 and $74,200 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required. 

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Resident Care Supervisor and is in pay schedule and range 81/04.

Job Details

 

All applicants who may be appointed to these positions will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by CWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

DHS does not sponsor work visas for these positions, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications

 

Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:

  • Experience implementing new treatments and providing continual active treatments, care, safety and monitoring programs for residents or clients in a 24/7 healthcare facility.
  • Experience providing coaching, guidance, or training to other staff.

Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:

  • Supervisory experience including performance evaluations, resolving conflict, assigning/reviewing work of subordinates, scheduling, interviewing or recommending hiring of staff, etc.
  • Leadership (coaching, guiding, and/or training other staff) or supervisory experience in a healthcare facility.
