Position Summary

 

The incumbent serves as the administrative assistant to the agency’s executive staff and the members of the Educational Communications Board. The incumbent will have a thorough knowledge of the board’s policies, the related state statutes and the overall operation and responsibilities of the agency. It is a confidential position involved in highly sensitive issues for the board and executive office. The incumbent also provides support to finance and engineering staff.

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time  
  • Be present during state business hours (7:45AM – 4:30PM weekdays - Requirement does not apply to the 45-minute provided lunch break)

Salary Information

 

This classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 81-04. The starting hourly rate for the Executive Staff Assistant will be between $28.00 per hour to $38.00 per hour depending upon candidate qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period may be required.

 

For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan at the time of hire. 

Job Details

 

Due to the nature of the position, ECB will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. ECB does not sponsor work visas. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.

This position reports daily to our headquarters office in Madison, WI. This is not a remote position. The incumbent is responsible for answering the agency phone and being the primary greeter for visitors.

Qualifications

 

Minimally qualified applicants will have EACH of the following:

  • Experience as an executive assistant or other relevant administrative support for top executives in a high-profile environment. 
  • Experience using office automation tools to manage calendars, documents and websites. 
  • Experience managing records and files, such as retention and disposition. 
  • Experience with written and oral communication support to a wide variety of stakeholders, including executive level customers. 
  • Experience using professional financial systems.
