Position Summary

 

The Admissions & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating admissions processes and determining the admissions eligibility of veterans, their spouses, and other eligible relatives based on medical criteria, Veterans Administration rules and regulations, and state and federal statutes and administrative codes for skilled nursing facilities and veterans’ services organizations.

In addition, the Admissions & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for internal and external marketing of WVHUG and its services. This includes coordinating and facilitating tours for prospective members and their families. Other duties include performing outreach at fairs and conferences.

Salary Information

 

The starting salary for this position is between $30.00 - $34.34 an hour ($62,400 – $71,427 annually), or up to the appointment maximum at the time of the appointment. Salary is dependent on candidate qualifications.

The Veterans Benefits Specialist 2 classification is in pay schedule and range 12-64. Compensation for current state employees may vary and will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

 

This position is eligible to work remotely up to one day per week. Remote work is intended to be performed in the State of Wisconsin. High speed internet access is a requirement of remote work. Remote work options are subject to change based on business needs.

Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a background check prior to an offer of employment.

Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.

A 12-month probationary period may be required.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without WDVA sponsorship) at the time of application.

Qualifications

 

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience with:

  • Healthcare admissions and intake coordination (e.g., gather medical history, schedule assessments, verify insurance, manage referrals, etc.).

Well qualified candidates will also have experience with:

  • Admissions and intake coordination at a skilled nursing facility; or

  • Coordinating marketing or outreach efforts for a program or service.
